COSMETOLOGY PROGRAM
(Occupational Certificate)

  • Enter the program in August.
  • Earn an occupational certificate in cosmetology in 10 1/2 months.
  • Receive your cosmetology license by passing the Florida State Board of Cosmetology’s licensing exam.

Applications are available from the Cosmetology Department. For detailed admission requirements and program information, consult the program director, an SFSC advisor, or the College Catalog.

INDIVIDUAL COURSES

SFSC’s Cosmetology curriculum includes specialty courses in skin and nail care. Classes may also be taken separately by anyone who wishes to develop or enhance their skills in these areas. Call SFSC’s Cosmetology Department for the next scheduled classes.

Skin Care Specialty (Occupational Certificate)
  • Learn how to perform skin care techniques and apply makeup.
  • Become proficient in safety and sanitation practices established by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
  • Upon completing the course, you will receive an occupational certificate and be eligible to register as a skin care specialist with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Nails Specialty Course
  • Learn how to perform manicures and pedicures, apply acrylic nails, create nail art, and use silk and linen nail wraps.
  • Become proficient in safety and sanitation practices established by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
  • Upon completing the course, you may register as a manicure/pedicure specialist with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
