The president is the chief executive officer of the college and is responsible to the District Board for the organization and administration of the college. The president’s general powers, duties, and responsibilities are set forth in the Florida Statutes, SBE Rules, and District Board approved job descriptions.
The primary duties of the president are:
- To implement the policies of the Board
- To establish and operate programs as approved by the Board
- To provide direction for the overall operation of the college and its direct support organizations.
The president may delegate authority as deemed appropriate and necessary. Throughout the South Florida State College policy manual and the procedures manual the president’s authority to delegate shall be understood unless specifically prohibited in the State Board Rules or Florida Statutes
