You are a New SFSC Student
- Access the SFSC online application.
- Access the FAFSA (financial aid) application.
- Complete your new student orientation (mandatory prior to registering).
- Take a campus tour (individual or small groups, by arrangement).
- Get tutoring on the use of Panther Central and D2L course management software.
- Discuss career exploration and selection of a college major with a career counselor.
- Use our computers, printer, and fax machine (free of charge).
- Obtain referrals to other support services on campus to meet your individual needs.
You are an Established Student at SFSC
- Find out about experiential learning opportunities (Internship, Cooperative Education, Work-Study)
- Search for jobs on-campus or in the community to help defray educational expenses.
- Learn about opportunities to explore the world of work through volunteer and service learning activities.
- Utilize our Virtual Career Library and other resources to find information about occupations, training programs, and colleges and universities.
- Use our computers, printer, and fax machine (free of charge).
- Enjoy our modern, newly renovated Career Center as a quiet space in which to study and complete homework.
You Will Soon be Graduating from College
- Explore advanced career options using our wide variety of occupational resources and online databases.
- Explore programs and admission requirements at upper level colleges and universities.
- Find out about the baccalaureate and graduate degree program options available in our SFSC University Center.
- Apply for college or university admission online and get help with preparation of your personal statement essay.
- Begin your search for that first job in your new profession.
- Work with our advisors to create your resume and/or professional portfolio.
- Prepare for job interviews by participating in mock interview feedback sessions and employability skills workshops.
You Want to Enhance Your Current Career or Explore a New Career Direction
You are Looking for Part-Time Employment
- Check the Career Center Job Postings for part-time student jobs and/or work-study positions.
- Ask about opportunities for paid or unpaid internships.
- Inquire about whether a Work-Study position could be appropriate.
- Work Study provides part-time employment to help students earn funds to assist with educational costs.
- The Work Study Program allows students to work in SFSC departments assisting with clerical work, staff support, and other duties as assigned.
- Students earn minimum wage for a maximum of 15 to 20 hours per week.
- A limited number of positions are available each term.
