Your Pathway to Become a Chemist
A Chemist studies atoms and molecules to create solutions and test chemical and physical properties, compositions, structures, relationships, and reactions of organic and inorganic compounds. These individuals can also be classified as biochemists, materials scientists, and biophysicists.
Chemists are essential for understanding chemical reactions and:
- collaborate with engineers
- conduct experiments and analyze results
- work in laboratories and offices
SFSC’s Associate in Arts in Chemistry:
- is 60 credit hours
- takes approximately two years to complete
- can be started in high school through dual enrollment
- can transfer to the University of South Florida’s Fuse program upon completion
