Consider a work-study position at one of SFSC’s campuses!
Student work-study positions frequently become available at South Florida State College. Most begin in the fall term and continue through the spring term, although a few may extend into summer.
All positions come with hourly pay and a workload of 10-20 hours per week, depending upon student need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Work schedules vary and are established by the department that is employing the work-study student.
To qualify, you must:
- Have a current FAFSA on file in the SFSC Financial Aid Office and document an unmet financial need (for federal work-study positions)
- Be enrolled for each term of the work-study employment for at least 6 credit hours
- Have an overall GPA of at least 2.0
To apply:
- Complete the Financial Aid Federal Work-Study Student Inquiry form.
- Create/activate your student account now in College Central if you have not done so already.
- Once the Financial Aid Office has notified you that you have been approved to participate in work-study, the Career Development Center will email you instructions on how to apply and interview for the specific work-study jobs in which you have an interest.
Some of the positions typically available are:
- Tutoring (Adult Education, Math Lab, Writing Lab, Spanish Lab, Science Lab)
- Student office assistants (Dean’s offices, Career Development Center, Financial Aid Office, Business Office, etc.)
- Student office assistants (DeSoto and Hardee campuses and Lake Placid Center)
- Off-campus tutors (at community service agencies or public schools)
- Student Life assistants (for PAC/Panther GamePad)
- Recruitment/student ambassadors
- Museum of Florida Art and Culture (MOFAC)
