Your Pathway to Become a Cosmetologist
A Cosmetologist provides various treatments to enhance and improve individuals’ skin, hair, and beauty, including styling and cutting hair, manicures, pedicures, makeup application, scalp care, and facial treatments.
Cosmetologists work at salons, spas, department stores, hotels, hospitals, and:
- own businesses
- work in movies, television, and other media
- use chemistry to develop hair coloring and styling
- continue learning to adhere to current trends
SFSC’s Certificate in Cosmetology:
- is 1,200 contact hours
- takes approximately 11 months to complete
- can be started in high school through dual enrollment
