A Firefighter responds to 9-1-1 calls for emergency assistance.
Firefighters are essential for public safety and:
- search for and rescue victims from vehicles, fires, and building collapse
- extinguish fires of all types
- climb ladders to access fires and victims of a fire
- respond to calls for medical assistance
SFSC’s Firefighter Career Certificate:
- is 492 contact hours
- takes approximately 4 full-time months to 7 part-time months to complete
- prepares students for the State of Florida Firefighter certification
- is accredited by the State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training
