The SFSC Foundation is a pillar of support for students pursuing their educational dreams. With unwavering commitment, it offers scholarships that encompass not just tuition, but also the often-overlooked expenses of books, supplies, and even housing. These scholarships serve as a beacon of hope, easing the financial burden that many students face. By covering these essential costs, the SFSC Foundation ensures that students can focus on their studies without the constant worry of how to make ends meet. In doing so, it fosters a nurturing environment where dreams can flourish, and the path to a brighter future is illuminated.

Your planned gift to the SFSC Foundation is an investment that yields life-changing returns.

Why should you include a charitable gift in your will (or living trust)?

  1. It’s simple to do
  2. You can change your mind and your will or trust
  3. Estate benefits
  4. It’s an easy way to support SFSC and we would be grateful for your gift
  5. You can make a difference in the lives of our students with your legacy

How you include a gift in your will or revocable trust depends on what you want to accomplish, and what you want to give to SFSC. Here are some options:

  1. Give a percentage of the residual of your estate
  2. Give a specific dollar amount or item of property
  3. Make your bequest contingent

Besides choosing how your bequest will come to SFSC, you also have a say in how it will be used and acknowledged.

  • Make the gift unrestricted – It will go into the College’s Endowment Fund to build up that permanent funding source for SFSC
  • Make the gift restricted (e.g., to support a specific area of interest such as community programs and education)
  • Set up a named endowment fund
  • Memorialize or honor a loved one

A legacy gift could be right for you if:

  • Long-term planning is more important to you than an immediate income tax deduction
  • You want the flexibility of a gift commitment that doesn’t affect your current cash flow
  • You want the SFSC Foundation to continue to support our students and our future leaders
