Your Pathway to Become a Paramedic
A Paramedic responds to 9-1-1 calls for emergency assistance.
Paramedics are essential for public safety and:
- assess a patient’s condition and determine the proper course of treatment
- establish and maintain airway and breathing
- evaluate and interpret heart rhythms
- administer medications
SFSC’s College Credit Certificate in Paramedic:
- is 42 credit hours
- takes approximately 11 months to complete
- prepares students for certification as a Paramedic
- is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs; the Florida Department of Health; Bureau of Emergency Medical Services Professions; and Council on Accreditation Emergency Medical Services Program (CoAEMSP)
