Office of Adult Education
South Florida State College’s (SFSC) Office of Adult Education empowers individuals by making education accessible to all through its GED and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) programs. Through SFSC’s Partners in Progress initiative, we connect learners with community resources that will support their success beyond the classroom. We provide the tools and support that students need to pursue their academic and career goals, whether through earning a high school diploma, improving English language skills, or preparing for workforce opportunities. We are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for students at any stage of their educational journey.
There is no cost to attend GED and ESOL classes, but participants must be at least 16 years of age.
GED® Program
SFSC’s GED® program offers the opportunity for adult learners to earn a state of Florida high school equivalency diploma, which opens doors to higher education, job advancement, and better career prospects. With flexible scheduling, self-paced learning, and a supportive instructional team, students can prepare for and pass the GED® exam. The program meets students where they are academically and provides the personalized instruction and resources to guide them to success.
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
If English is not your native language, SFSC’s English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) program can help you learn or improve your ability to read, write, and speak English. Classes help you develop the skills you need to find a job, get a promotion, or prepare for college-level academic courses at SFSC. Through a supportive learning environment and community connections, you will find clear path to language proficiency and personal growth.
